[expand title=”Gender Equity/Women-Centered”]With the full coeducation of Wilson College planned for implementation in the next two years, concerns have been raised that Wilson could lose the benefits of being a women-centered institution. A committee will form to consider the philosophy and practices that will allow Wilson to continue to be women-centered. The committee will draw upon scholarly literature in women’s studies as well as consider the practices of other former women’s colleges in order to write a statement of philosophy and recommend set of principles on which Wilson can base its practices as a women-centered institution in a coeducational institution. The committee will also recommend ways that Wilson can retain the most important values and practices that make it women-centered.

[expand title=”Pedagogy and Curriculum”]

The committee will consider how pedagogy may need to change at Wilson to
fit well with an additional population of men and be inclusive. It will

women-centeredness that is important to Wilson College as an historic
women’s college.

[expand title=”Marketing”]This phase of the marketing committee work will focus on identifying the culture and key brand attributes of the Wilson experience in developing a position and message platform tied to the strategic goals of the College. Recent market research will serve to inform a series of focus groups with current students, alumnae/i, faculty and staff as well as a comprehensive quantitative survey. The Office of Marketing and Communications will identify potential messages and work with the main committee to refine the message platform. Alumnae and student subcommittees will be expected to take part in focus groups and surveys and will be asked to give additional feedback as the messages are refined.

[expand title=”Coeducation Recruitment”]Research and examine all facets of recruiting to a newly coeducational institution. Insights and opinions of high school females and males as well as key influencers in the recruitment process—parents and guidance personnel—will be sought to determine what they think; what they will look for; what they will expect in every interaction with college personnel and current students. We will also focus on campus visits, open houses, college fairs and increased collaboration with the athletics department.
