The group reviewed the results of the survey.  There were 94 responses to the survey.   The architect provided an illustrative plan for the repurposed current fitness center.  The pros and cons of this space were discussed.  The primary opinion on the space is that having the space more open is best and gaming rooms would not be needed.  The use of the old gym for the student center was not illustrated by the architect due to estimated costs associated with the renovation.  The costs associated with the renovations to the old gym were reviewed and included issues with ADA access, mechanical system upgrades, restroom facilities issues, and lighting.   The committee will ask the architect to future evaluate both options to create an illustrative plan and cost estimates for both.  Once these plans are received, we will be able to compare the options and make a recommendation.

We have received 83 responses to the survey so far.   We reviewed the results received to date.  The survey will be open until April 11th and then we will close out and send a summary to all the committee.

The location for the student center was discussed along with the timing of when the projects can be completed.  Given the delay in the Board’s decision and the time it has taken the committee to complete its work, we expect to start the project over the summer with completion during the fall semester.

The two areas we discussed were the fitness center and the old gym.  We want to evaluate each space for the temporary location and identify what we can accomplish with the established budget.
